For NORD/LB Luxembourg Covered Bond Bank as a covered bond bank and being a strategic part of the NORD/LB Group refinancing is an important component of its business activities.
In order to refinance its lending the bank issues Lettres de Gage publiques (covered bonds under the Luxembourg law) in several standard currencies with medium and long term maturities. The Lettres de Gage are issued as registered covered bonds based on a standalone documentation (Namenspfandbriefe) and as bearer notes via our - until 2021 - yearly updated EMTN-Program and fulfill the requirements of the UCITS Art. 22(4).
As the documentation of drawings under the aforementioned debt issuance programme are in New Global Note Format, the issues can be, after listing at the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and depending on the currency, eligible for open market operations of the European Central Bank. Apart from standardized covered bonds the issuance focuses mainly on individual tailor-made private placements.
In the course of our public relations we stay in touch with new and existing investors and partners and inform about our strategic focus and the development of the bank on a regular basis. Transparency and reliability is the key to the confidence NORD/LB Luxembourg Covered Bond Bank and its Lettres de Gage publiques enjoy in the capital market.
